Brisket, sausages, green beans and the potato salad are delicious. It is very well priced. Ever since I found this place, I stopped going to other more expensive options. This place delivers an incredible Texan BBQ experience. I am giving it 4/5 stars in atmosphere because they need a bit of improvement in the facility. Other than that this place is one of my favorites in the San Antonio-Austin area.
I dropped in just a few minutes before closing and the staff still gave me a warm welcome. The gal taking my order was friendly and very helpful in helping me decide on what to order. I got ribs with pinto beans and Mac&cheese with an ice tea. They added pickles and onions, BBQ sauce, and 3 slices of bread. The ribs were amazing and yes the meat just fell off the bone. The sides and everything else was very good. Inside it was a simple dining area that was clean and well lit. Very much enjoyed all aspects of this place and the friendly staff.
The brisket had the juiciness and char with the hint of sour you want. Perfection. Sausage was with Gouda was the right amount spice. The potatoes with sausage and cheese were a favorite, Kudos to staff, they didn’t upsell. Actually helped us get more food with the specials for less price. Great job pit master and great Jo’s staff.
It's an amazing vibe and very helpful staff! Loved the porkbelly and burnt ends! The sides were fantastic, too!
Came on a Wednesday @3:30, paid 69 for 1lbs brisket, 2 whole chicken 2 pint of sides, 3 sausage links, gallon of tea and whole loaf of bread. Mac and chz noodles were soft but flavor is exquisite. Potato salad is good! We got every meat and it was tinder banana pudding is to die for. Their hard ice tea is 3.50 for 5% alc per can

Very unassuming place, but the food quality is on display early and often. Had the brisket (moist and tender without being greasy) ribs (a little heavy on the char but the flavor was nice) and the Turkey (Slap yo momma good). Prices were very reasonable and service was polite and quick. Solid Texas BBQ, 8.5/10.
San Marcos BBQ is definitely on my list of places to return for barbecue when I’m in the area. Everything I eat was delicious, the place is clean, and the staff were super friendly.
